Calculate the final velocity of block sliding from rest position to position A on a horizontal surface. When 100 N applied on block, the block moves from rest position to position A is 4 m. Coefficient of friction between surface and block is My = 0.2 Mass of block is 10 kg and acceleration due to gravity is 10 m/s2. Rest position 4 m Position A A) 4 m/s B) 8 m/s c) 2 m/s D) 16 m/s

answer:

8m/s

Net force = force - friction

friction =Meu * mass * g

= 0.2*10*10= 20N

net force = 100-20

= 80N

acceleration =force /mass

= 80/10=8m/s^2

v^2=u^2 +2as

v^2 = 0+ 2*8*4( rest means acceleration is zero)

v^2 = 64

v= 8m/s
