Calculate the following examples.
1. Jigna takes 50g of dry powdered soil in a Filter paper and slowly adds water to the soil From a 100ml fully filled measuring cylinder when water starts dripping from the fitter paper, 60ml of water is left in the measuring cylinder. Find out the percentage of a water absorbed by the soil.

% of water absorbed by the soil is 80%

EXPLANATION

total weight of soil - 50gm

total water absorbed by the soil = total water - remaining water left in the cylinder

= 100-60

=40ml

%of water absorbed by the soil is

water/soil*100

40/50*100

=80%
