Solution :-

As we know that ,

Pressure is defined as force exerted per unit area is called pressure . So,

Pressure = Force/Area

Units of pressure is Newton /m²

So, but According to the question area is in "cm²" So, we shall convert into m²

1m = 100cm

1cm = 1/100 m

So,

136cm² = 136/100 m ×100 m

= 136/10,000 m²

136 cm²= 0.0136 m²

Area = 0.0136 cm²

Substituting the values ,

Pressure = Force /Area

17 = Force /0.0136

Force = 0.0136 ×17

Force =0.2312 N

So, force acting on the body is 0.2312 N
