Initial velocity, u = 72km/h = 20m/s

Final velocity, v = 0m/s

Time taken to stop, t = 5s

Mass of the motor car along the passengers, m = 800kg

Acceleration, a = [(v-u)/t]

= [(0-20)]/5]

= [-20/5]

= -4m/s^2

Force = m×a

= 800×(-4)

= (-2400)N

Opposing force is denoted by negative sign.
