we know that , F = G Mm / d^2

= 6.7 ×10 ^-11 ×6×10^24×1 / ( 6.4×10^3)^2 = 40.2 × 10^13 / 40.96 × 10^6 = 0.98 × 10^7 = 9.8×10^6 N

[ For knowledge --- M is mass of earth , m is mass of the ball and d is radius of earth or distance between centre of earth and the ball ]
