we have to find the frequency in hertz of electromagnetic radiation that has wavelength of 585 nm.

solution : number of revolution per unit time is known as frequency.

for electromagnetic radiation, velocity of wave = frequency × wavelength

here, velocity of wave = velocity of light = 3 × 10⁸ m/s

wavelength = 585 nm = 5.85 × 10⁻⁷ m

∴ frequency = \frac{\text{velocity of light}}{\text{wavelength}}

=  \frac{3\times10^8m/s}{5.85\times10^{-7}m}

= 5.13 × 10¹⁴ Hertz

therefore the frequency in the hertz of electromagnetic radiation is 5.13 × 10¹⁴ Hertz.
