Given - λ (wavelength of green light) = 486nm

To find - the frequency of green light (f)

Solution -

The given problem can be solved using the following process that is as follow:

Let 'f' be the frequency of green light, 'c' be the speed of light and let 'λ' be the wavelength of green light.

As per the given condition,

λ = 486nm

λ = 486*10^{-9}m

3*10^{8}m/s....(as the speed of the light is 3*10^{8} m/s )

As we know, the speed of the given light is equal to frequency times its wavelength.

c = f × λ ...........(formula)

∴ f = c/λ ..........(rearranging the formula)

∴ By inserting the given values in the above-mentioned formula. we get,

f=3*10^{8}/486*10^{-9} .........(from given)

f=0.00617*10^{17}

f=6.17*10^{14} Hz

Hence, the frequency of the green light is 6.17*10^{14} Hz
