Given m = 2 Kg, ∆T = (50 – 10) = 40°C.

In terms of Kelvin,

∆T = (323.15 – 283.15) = 40K,

C = 4200 J Kg-1 K,sup>- 1.

∴ Heat energy required, Q = m × C × ∆T.

= 2 × 4200 × 40 = 3,36,000 J.
