Answer:-

  • 0.2m is the required answer.

Given:-

  • Mass of body ,m = 0.5kg
  • Acceleration due to gravity ,g = 10m/s²
  • Energy ,E = 1 J

To Find:-

  • Height through the body is lifted ,h

Solution:-

According to the Question

It is given that body of mass 0.5 kg is lifted if the energy spent in doing so is 1.0 J.

We have to calculate the height through which a bod was lifted .

As we know that the energy possessed by body due to its position/ height is called potential energy.

  • PE = mgh

where,

  • PE is potential energy (Energy)
  • m is the mass of the body
  • g is the acceleration due to gravity
  • h is the height

Substitute the value we get

→ 1 = 0.5 × 10 × h

→ 1 = 5 × h

→ h = 1/5

→ h = 0.2 m

  • Hence, the height through which the body was lifted 0.2 meter.

Given :-

Mass = 0.5 kg

Energy spent = 1 J

To Find :-

Height

Solution :-

Let the height be h

PE = mgh

h = PE/mg

h = 1/0.5 × 10

h = 1/5 × 10 × 10/1

h = 10/50

h = 1/5

h = 0.2 m

Hence

The height is 0.2 m
