Calculate the hydrostatic pressure at a depth of 100 m in sea water and also total pressure at this depth.
(density of sea water 1.03 x 10° kg/m3, atmospheric pressure = 10%N/m², 9= 10 ms 2)

Answer:

given = depth = 100 m

            density of sea water 1.03 x 10° kg/m3,

            atmospheric pressure = 10%N/m²

to find =hydrostatic pressure = ?

solution = hydrostatic at 100m

P = h ρ g

P = 100 X   1.03 x 10°  X 10

P =  1030 X 10³

now, for total pressure at the given depth is

P = atospheric pressure +  h ρ g

P = 1.0 X 10⁵ +  1030 X 10³

P = 1130 X 10³
