Calculate the image distance for an object of height 12 mm at a distance of 0.20 m from a concave lens
focal length 0.30 m, and state the nature and size of the image.​

Answer:

V = ?

h1 = 12 mm = 0.012 m

u = -0.20 m

f = -0.30 m

1/v – 1/u = 1/f

1/v – 1/-0.20 = 1/-0.30

1/v = -1/0.30 – 1/0.20

V = -0.12m

Image is virtual and erect.

m = h2/h1 = v/u

h2/0.012 = -0.12/-0.20

h2 = 0.0072 m = 7.2 mm

image is 7.2 mm high.
