momentum = Mv

= 2000 × 72

= 144000

Answer:

given = mass = 2000Kg

            speed = 72Km/ hr  convert it into m/s so, 72 x 5/18= 20m/s

to find = impulse ?

solution = impulse = change in momentum

             = initial momentum - final momentum

             = 200 x 0 - 200 x 20

             =  0 -  40000

             = -40000Ns

so, the necessary impulse to stop a 2000Kg car travelling at 72km per houris -40000Ns.
