Calculate the initial (from rest) acceleration of a proton in a 5.00 × 106 N/C electric field (such as created by a research Van de Graaff). Note: The mass of proton is mp = 1.67 × 10-27 kg and its charge qp = 1.6 × 106 C.

F=qE
F=Ma
qE =ma
a=qE÷m
= 1.6×10^6 ×5 ×10^6. ÷1.67×10^-27
=4.79×10^39

Answer: a=4.79m/s

Explanation: First you'll have to find the force using this equation(E=F/q),after that you'll use this equation to find the acceleration(F=ma) note that "m" is the mass of the proton which is 1.67*10^-27
