Given:

  • Mass , m = 200 g = 200/1000 = 0.2 kg

  • Speed of body ( velocity ) , v = 20 cm/s = 0.2 m/s

To be calculated:

Calculate the kinetic energy of a ball .

Formula used:

★ Kinetic energy = ½ × m × v²

Solution:

We know that,

Kinetic energy = ½ × m × v²

Putting the values in the above formula, we get

Kinetic energy = ½ × 0.2 × (0.2 )²

= ½ × 0.2 × 0.04

= 0.008/2

= 0.004 joule

Thus, the kinetic energy of the body is 0.004 joule.

Additional information:

  • Kinetic energy is caused due to movement of a body.

It depends on mass and velocity of a body.

Kinetic energy is directly proportional to mass.

Kinetic energy is also directly proportional to v².

Answer:

mass of ball =200gm=0.2kg

velocity of ball =20cm/s=0.2m/s

knetic Energy=1/2mv =1/2*0.2*(0.2) 2=0.004 J
