Calculate the kinetic energy of a car of mass 500kg moving with a velocity of 18 km/h. Find the
new kinetic energy if two passengers of mass 50 kg each sit in the car?

m = 500kg

v = 18km/hr = 5m/s

Now, K.E. = 1/2mv²

K.E.= 1/2(500)(5)

K.E.= 1250J

Now, m = 600kg as two passengers each of 50kg are also in the car.

So, new K.E.= 1/2(600)(5)

new K.E. = 1500J
