we know
force(F)=charge(q).electric field(E)
the force F is balancing the weight of the deuteron
so, F=mg
and q.E=mg
or E=mg/q
where m is mass= 3.2x10^-27 kg
and g is acc due to gravity. assume it to be 10ms–²
and q is charge
here, a deuteron is an isotope of hydrogen containing 1 proton so charge,q=1.6x10^-19C
put the values in the equation,
the electric field balancing the deuteron is 2x10^-7
