we know

force(F)=charge(q).electric field(E)

the force F is balancing the weight of the deuteron

so, F=mg

and q.E=mg

or E=mg/q

where m is mass= 3.2x10^-27 kg

and g is acc due to gravity. assume it to be 10ms–²

and q is charge

here, a deuteron is an isotope of hydrogen containing 1 proton so charge,q=1.6x10^-19C

put the values in the equation,

the electric field balancing the deuteron is 2x10^-7
