It is the percentage by mass of atom of an element present in one mole of the conpund.

▶We need to calculate the molecular mass of copper sulphate, which will be found by adding the mass of all the elements present in that compound.

Cu = 64

S= 32

O= 16

= Cu + S + 4(O)

= 64 + 32 + 4 × (16)

= 64 + 32 + 84

= 160 g.
