mass of C = 12u mass of H = 1u mass of O = 16u

amu of sugar =( 12*12) + (1*22)+ (16*11)

=144 + 22 + 176 = 342u

molar mass = 342 gram

mass = no. of moles * molar mass = 0.5 * 342 = 171 gram

mass/molar mass = number of moles
number of moles x molar mass = mass
molar mass of sugar = 342.29 g/mol
mass = 0.5 x 342.29 = 171.145 g
