Answer:

Given:

Weight of Carbon dioxide = 2g

To find:

Mass of carbon present in 2g of  = ?

Calculation:

First calculate the molecular mass of

Molecular mass = 1 (Atomic mass of C) + 2 (Atomic mass of O)

Molecular mass = 1(12)+2(16)

Molecular mass = 12+32

Molecular mass = 44g.

From the molecular mass calculation it is inferred that 12 g of carbon is present in 44g of carbon.

∴ 2g of carbon dioxide contains

= 0.52g

Conclusion:

Mass of carbon present in 2g of  carbondioxide is 0.52g.
