Calculate the mass of common salt required to be dissolved into 50g of water to prepare 20% (by mass) solution.

MASS BY MASS %=(MASS OF SALT/MASS OF SALT+WATER)*100

20=(X/X+50)*100

5X=X+50

4X=50

X=50/4=12.5g OF SALT

Mass by mass %=(mass of salt/mass of salt+ water)*100
