CALCULATE THE MASS PERCENT OD CARBON AND HYDROGEN

Explanation:

In terms of mass, methane is (4.032/16.04) x 100 = 25.13% hydrogen and (12.01/16.04) x 100 = 74.87% carbon. N.B. In this example the numerical values of the atomic masses are given to 4 significant figures.

Explanation:

1 - In methane there are only 2 elements , carbon & hydrogen .

2- the total mass of a methane molecule (ch4) is 4×1 +12 = 16.

3 - percent of mass hydrogen in methane = 4÷16 ×100 =25
