(MASS PERCENT=MASS OF ELEMENT÷MASS OF THE RESPECTIVE COMPOUND)x100

Mass % of Na=(23/35.5+23)x100

       =(23/58)x100=0.39x100=39%

Mass % of Cl can be simply found by subtracting mass% of Na from 100=100-39=61%
