molecular mass of the compound
Na2SO4
= (2×23)+(1×32)+(4×16)
= 46+32+64
= 142 g

mass percentage of
1) Na
= mass of the element in the compound/molec mass of the compound × 100
= (2×23)/142 × 100
= 46/142 × 100
= 32.4 %

2) S
= 32/142 × 100
= 22.5%

3) O
= 64/142 × 100
= 45.1 %
