To find:
Mass of KNO3 and H2O each
Solution:
14% solution means, 14g solute (KNO3) is present in 100g solution.
Thus, mass of water = 100-14=86g water
So in 500g solution, 14x500/100g
=70g KNO3 is present.
Mass of water present= 500-70= 430g.
Hence the mass of potassium nitrate & H20 in 500g of 14% solution are 70g and 430g respectively.
