The maximum displacement of the sound wave  is 2.2 x 10^-7 m

  • A = \frac{Pmax}{2\pi fdV}
  • A is the maximum displacement
  • Pmax is the maximum Pressure, Pmax = 2.0pa
  • f is the frequency, f = 3.4khz
  • d is the density of air, d = 1.22 Kg/m^3
  • V is the velocity of sound in air, V= 346m/s

Therefore the maximum displacement is given by,

A = \frac{2}{2\pi *3.4*10^{3} *1.22*346}  = \frac{2*10^{-3} }{9017.677}  = \frac{2*10^{-3} }{0.9017*10^{4} }  = 2.2 * 10^{-7} m
