Answer:

x/0.01 + ( y + 0.03/0.05) = 2

⇒100x + (y + 3/5) = 2

⇒ 500x + 5y + 3 = 10

⇒ 500x + 5y = 7 ------(1)

Again, y/0.02 + (x + 0.03/0.04) = 2

⇒50y + x + 3/4= 2

⇒ 200y + 4x + 3 = 8

⇒4x + 200y = 5 --------(2)

equation (2) × 125 - equation (1),

125(4x + 200y ) - 500x + 5y = 125 × 5 - 7

⇒500x + 25000y - 500x + 5y = 625 - 7

⇒ 25005y = 618

⇒ y = 618/25005 = 0.02471 , put it in equation (1)

500x = 7 - 5y = 7 - 5 × 0.2471

⇒ x = 0.01375
