SOLUTION:

Given first 20 natural numbers

Mean of 20 natural numbers:

As we know the formula for mean of the data is given by

Mean = Sum of observations / Number of observations

Sum of the observations = Sum of 20 natural numbers

= 1 +2 +3 +4 +5 +6 +7 +8 +9 +10 +11 +12 +13 +14 +15 +16 +17 +18 +19 +20

= 210

Number of observations = 20

=> Mean of 20 natural numbers = 210/20 = 10.5

Mean of 20 natural numbers = 10.5

Median of 20 natural numbers:

As we know number of observations n = 20 [ 20 is a even number ]

Median of a data = [n/2th term + (n/2+1)th term]÷ 2

In given data n/2 th term = 20/2 = 10th term

(n/2+1)th term = (20/2 +1) = 10 + 1 = 11th term

Median of 20 natural numbers = (10+11)/2 = 21/2 = 10.5
