To Find : the mean deviation from median

Solution:

40,44,54,60,62

Data is already arranged in order

Hence Median = 54

xi     | xi - Median|

40       14

44        10

54        0

60        6

62        8

Total     38

mean deviation from median =  38/5   = 7.6

mean deviation from median = 7.6

Coefficient = 100 x 7.6/54  = 14.07 %
