Calculate the mechanical advantage of a
pulley in which a person puts in an effort of
50 N to lift a load 150 N. ???

Mechanical advantage of a pulley system is defined as the ratio of Load to be overcomed to the effort applied. Defined by Expression :-

ma =  \frac{l}{e}

Now we have been given that :-

  • Load at pulley = 150N
  • Effort applied by pulley = 50
  • Mechanical advantage = ?

Now after inputting the known values in the expression we get :-

ma =  \frac{l}{e}

ma =  \frac{150}{50}

ma = \huge \cancel \frac{150}{50}

ma = 3n

Therefore the Mechanical advantage of pulley is 3Newton.
