Calculate the molar mass in g mol–1 for each of the following: (i) Sodium hydroxide, NaOH (ii) Copper Sulphate CuSO4 .5H2O. (iii) Sodium Carbonate, Na2CO3 .10H2O

Na = 23, O =16, H =1, Cu=63.5, S = 32, H2O = 18,C= 12 )

1. NaOH = 23 + 16 +1 = 40 gm/mol

2. Copper sulphate = 63.5 + 32+ 16× 4+ 5×18= 249.5 gm/mol

3. sodium carbonate=23 x 2 + 12 + 16 X 3 + 10 x 18 = 286 gm/mol
