let cosider the soln of 100gm then we give that there is 46gm of ethanol in this soln so we calculate the number of moles of ethanol and water as follows

no of moles of ethanol=given wt/molar mass it gives1.

and for water=given wt(100-46)/18

it gives 3 mol

thus mole fraction of H2O is =nH2O/total moles=0.75

and mole fraction of C2H5OH =nC2H5OH/total moles=0.25
