Calculate the mole fraction of water in sodium hydroxide solution containing 80 gm of NaOH and 54 gm H2O ​

Answer:

mass of NaOH =80grms

mass of H2O =54gm

molecular weight of H2O =18

molecular weight of NaOH =40

no.of moles of H2O =mass of H20÷molecular mass

no.of moles of H2O=54÷18

                                 =03 moles

no.of  moleS of NaOH =80÷40

                                     =02 moles

total no. of moles in the solution =05 moles

mole fraction = no. of moles of H2O÷Total no. of moles in the solution

                      =03÷05

mole fraction = 0.6
