1) Urea (NH2CONH2)

= 1 atom of nitrogen + 2 x atom of hydrogen + 1 atom of carbon + 1 atom of oxygen + 1 atom of nitrogen + 2 x atom of hydrogen

= 2 x atom of nitrogen + 1 atom of oxygen + 4 x atom of hydrogen + 1 atom of carbon

= 2 x 14 + 16 +4 x 1 + 12

= 28+16+4+12

= 60 u

2) Sugar (C12H22O11)

= 12 x atom of carbon + 22 x atom of hydrogen + 11 x atom of oxygen

= 12 x 12 + 22 x 1 + 11 x 16

= 144 + 22 + 176

= 342 u
