Molecular mass = 2(C) + 4(H) + 2(O)

= 2(12) + 4(1) + 2(16)

= 24 + 4 + 32

= 60u

b) H2SO4:

Molecular mass = 1(H) + 2(S) + 4(O)

= 2(1) + 1(32) + 4(16)

= 1 + 32 + 64

= 97u
