ᴘᴀɴᴛʜᴇʀɪᴏ's ʀᴇsᴘᴏɴsᴇ:-

Given:-

  • Unified mass of Hydrogen (H) = 1 u
  • Unified mass of Oxygen (O) = 16 u

To Find: Molecular mass.

Here,

  • No. of atoms of Hydrogen = 2
  • No. of atoms of Oxygen = 1

∴ Mass becomes = (1 u × 2) + (16 u × 1)

= 2 u + 16 u

= 18 u

Mass of Water = 18 u

[Molar mass = 18 g/mol.]
