CALCULATE THE MOLES OF SODIUM HYDROXIDE CONTAINED IN 160 GRAM OF IT
Answers
Hello dear user!
A mole is the amount of a substance that contains as many atoms, molecules or ions as there are atoms in 0.012 kg of the carbon 12 Isotopes.
e. g.
1 mole of hydrogen contains 6.022 × 10 ^ 23.
Or
1 mole of sodium contains 6.022 × 10 ^ 23.
The SI unit of amount of substance is mole ( written as mol ).
Question = Calculate the moles of Sodium hydroxide contained in 160 g of it.
Answer = 160 g of Sodium hydroxide.
Molar mass of Sodium hydroxide ( NaOH ) ⇒
Sodium = 23
Oxygen = 16
Hydrogen = 1
= 23 + 16 + 1
= 40 g
40 g of Sodium hydroxide = 1 mol
160 g of Sodium hydroxide = 1 mol × 160 / 40 = 4 mol.
Hence " 4 moles contained in 160 g of sodium hydroxide.
Sodium hydroxide is industrially produced using the electrolytic chloralkali process.
Thanks!
♥️ Happy New Year ♥️
The moles of sodium hydroxide will be
Sodium hydroxide = NaOh = 40 molar mass
=> 160 / 40
=> 4 g
Hope it helps you
