Answer :-

1500kg m/s

Explanation :-

Given :

Mass = 300kg

Velocity = 18km/hr

Convert 18km/hr into m/s

=> (18*1000)/(60*60)

=> 5m/s

To Find :

Momentum = ?

Solution :

We know,

\boxed{\sf{p=mv}}

where,

p is the momentum

m is the mass and,

v is the velocity.

Put their values and find “p”

\sf{}\implies 300kg\times 5m/s

\sf{}\implies 1500kg\ m/s

Therefore,momentum of the car is equal to 1500kg m/s

☆Know more☆

  • Momentum: momentum is the quantity of motion stored in an object.
  • Since momentum is the product of mass and velocity (p=mv) of an object.Therefore momentum increases with increase of either mass or velocity.
  • Momentum is directly proportioval to the mass of an object and momentum is also directly proportional to the velocity of an object.This means if a lighter and a heavier object is moving with same velocity then heavier object will have more momentum than lighter one.
  • SI unit of momentum is kg m/s.
