2,3 and 6 ohm are in parallel combination 1/r=1/2+1/3+1/6 , 1/r= 3+2+1/6, 1/r=6/6, then r is 1ohm then 1,4 and 5 ohm in series combination then Req is 1+4+5, Req= 10ohm From ohm's rule V= i×Req, 40=i×10, I= 4A, resistance depends on object length cross sectional area and resistivity of material .
