ANSWER:

Molar mass H2O = 18g/mol

0.05g = 0.05/18 = 2.78*10^-3 mol H2O

Molecules of H2O = (2.78*10^-3) * 6.022*10^23 = 1.67*10^21 H2O molecules

But each H2O molecule contains 3 atoms:

Number of atoms = 3* 1.67*10^21 = 5.02*10^21 atoms.

5.02 × 10²¹ atoms are the right answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Moles of H₂o = Weight / Mole. weight = 0.05/18 g/mole.
  • Molecules of H₂o = 0.05/18 g/mole × Na molecules.
  • 1 molecule of H₂o consists of three atoms.
  • I mole consists of = 6.023×10²³ molecules.
  • 0.05/18 g/mole × 6.022 × 10 ²³ atoms = 5.02 × 10²¹ atoms.

5.02 × 10²¹ atoms are the no. of atoms in 0.05 g of water.
