these two mirrors is 'd'. Let number of images formed are 'n'.Here n is a time dependent quantity. Let at t = T1 ,we placed an object O between the mirrors. At t = T2 , we observed the images formed.Distances of object from mirror-1 and mirror-2 are 'a' and 'b' respectively.Now, let us count number of images 'n' formed in mirror-1 :Time taken by light to travel from object to mirror is distance/speed = a/ca aa / // c cc , where c is speed of light in air. So, time taken by light to come back to the object = 2a/c2a/c 2a/c2a/c2a/c2a/c . Hence, time taken to form first image is = 2a/c.2 22 a aa / // c cc . .. To form second image in mirror-1 after first, light have to travel from object to mirror-2 and then back to mirror-1 and finally from mirror-1 to object. So total distance = b+b+a+a=2(a+b).b+b+a+a=2(a+b) b+b+a+a=2(a+b).b+b+a+a=2(a+b)b+b+a+a=2(a+b).b+b+a+a=2(a+b) . .. So time taken to form second image after the first one =2(a+b)/c=2(a+b)/c. 2(a+b)/c=2(a+b)/c

many answers containing the word "infinite" and operating with geometrical optics are probably wrong. Analyzing one beam of light is not what we look for. We have to ask following question: what will be the image content between two parallel mirrors? the content of the opposite mirror. And vice versa. In an ideal state (required also for the "infinite" amount of reflections), you would see hollow space, but you as an observer must be infinitely small. Any observer head or camera or any non reflective object will spoil the expected effect. Now, back to the reality. There is always reflected light coming from the area around the double glass system and this light is being reflected inside the system. So the image you can see e.g. with the help of pin hole camera placed in the middle of the glass, will be something looking like a light framed tunnel gradually dimmed and dark in the middle. And at last, let me put a highly important question for every true scientist: what is all this good for? Because such kind of mirror setup is entirely useless.\
