★ MOLES = WEIGHT / MOLECULAR MASS

= 9g / 18 [ Mass of Water ]

= 0.5 Moles of H2O .

Given :

Mass of H₂O = 9 gm of H₂O

To Find :

Number of moles of H₂O

Solution :

Mole is defined as the number of particles which is exactly equal to the number of ¹²C-atoms present in 0.012 Kg of carbon.

We are required to find the number of moles present in 9 gm of H₂O.

18 gm of H₂O = 1 mole

9 gm of H₂O = \frac{1}{18} × 9

                     = 0.5 mole

Therefore, the number of moles in 9 gm of H₂O is 0.5.
