Hi mate.

Here is your answer.

Thanks for asking this question,

First we find the molar mass of CH4

= 1 (C) + 4 (H)

= 12 + 4 (1)

= 12 + 4

= 16 g.

We know that,

No. Of moles of methane = weight of methane

÷ molar mass

n = 3.2 × 10-2 mg × 16

But the weight is not in SI unit,

Therefore,

W = 3.2 ×10-2 = 3.2 × 10-5 = 32 × 10-4 g

So that,

No of moles = 32 ×10-4 ÷ 16 g

= 2× 10-4 g

n \:  \:  =  \:  \: 2 \times  {10}^{? - 4}  \: g
