Let n = number of moles .

Thus it is given that

n(Al2O3) = 2.16 mol.

n(Al) = ?

Now in 1 mole there are 2 moles of Al in Al2O3

Thus by unitary method;

n(Al) = 2 × n(Al2O3)

= 2 × 2.16

= 4.32 moles.

Therefore n(Al) = 4.32

Given,

2.16 moles of Al_2O_3

To find,

Number of moles of Al

Solution,

This question can very easily be solved using stoichiometry.

In the compound, Al_2O_3

there are 2 moles of Al in 1 mole of Al_2O_3

we can apply the unitary method here

1 mol Al_2O_3 -------> 2 mol Al

∴ 2.16 mol Al_2O_3 ------> 2.16 × 2 mol Al = 4.32 mol Al

There are 4.32 mol Al, in 2.16 mol Al_2O_3.
