given that volume of hydrogen gas = 0.448 litre = 0.448 dm^3 [ 1 Litre = 1dm^3]

No. of moles(n) of hydrogen gas =

volume of hydrogen gas ÷ molar volume of hydrogen gas

0.448 dm^3 / 22.4 dm^3 ( molar volume of any gas is 22.4 dm^3 )

= 0.448 ×1000/22.4×1000

=448/224×100

=2/100

=0.02 mol

n = 0.02 moles

Answer:

Explanation:

We are given volume of hydrogen gas at STP ( Standard temperature and Pressure ) as 0.488 litres.

We have to calculate the number of mole.

Since we are given the volume, number of mole can be calculated as :

⇒ Num. of mole = Volume / 22.4

[ 22.4 because of STP ]

⇒ Num. of mole = 0.488 / 22.4 [ Given ]

⇒ Num. of mole = 0.02 mole

Hence, The number of mole of Hydrogen gas in this case is 0.02 mole

Some Information :-

• If we have to find the number of mole of an atom or molecule we can do so using the given formula :

Num. of mole = Mass given / Molar mass

• 1 mole of an atom or molecule has 6.022 × 10²³ atoms or molecules respectively.
