discount \: in \: percentage \: = \frac{MP\: - SP}{MP} \times 100 \\ \\

here MP refers to marked price = rs. 700
and;
SP refers to selling price = 630

discount \: percentage \: = \frac{MP\: - SP}{MP} \times 100 \\ \\ \frac{700 - 630}{700} \times 100 \\ \\ \frac{70}{700} \times 100 \\ \\ \frac{1}{10} \times 100 \\ \\ 10\% \:
so the discount percentage is 10%
