We know that atomic mass of calcium = 40, phosphorus = 31 and that of oxygen = 16. Therefore, putting the values we get, molar mass of Ca3(PO4)2= 120+62+128 = 310. Therefore, the mass percentage of calcium in calcium phosphate = 120310×100=38.71.

Answer:

Calcium Phosphate - Ca_{3}(PO_{4})_{2}

The total mass of the compound

= 3(40) + 2(30) + 8(16)

= 120 + 60 + 128

= 308

Now, percentage composition of Calcium in Calcium Phosphate

 =  Mass of calcium in the compound / total mass of the compound × 100

 =   \frac{120}{308} × 100

 =  38.96 %
