nitric acid formula is HNO3, its atomic mass is 63.02g
% composition of H= (1.01/63.02)* (6.022*10^23)
%composition of  N= (14.01/63.02)*(6.022*10^23)
%composition of O= (48.00/63.02)*(6.022*10^23)

here ^ stands for power

Answer: Percentage of hydrogen is 1.58% , percentage of nitrogen is 22.22% and percentage of oxygen is 76.19%.

Explanation:

Mass of 1 mole of nitric acid HNO_3=1\times {\text {atomic mass of hydrogen}}+1\times {\text {atomic mass of nitrogen}}+3\times {\text {atomic mass of oxygen}}

Mass of 1 mole of nitric acid HNO_3=1\times 1+1g/mol+1\times 14g/mol+3\times 16g/mol=63 g

a) {\text {percentage of hydrogen }}=\frac{\text {mass of hydrogen}}{\text { mass of nitric acid}}\times 100\%=\frac{1}{63}\times 100\%=1.58\%

b) {\text {percentage of nitrogen }}=\frac{\text {mass of nitrogen}}{\text { mass of nitric acid}}\times 100\%=\frac{14}{63}\times 100\%=22.22\%

c) {\text {percentage of oxygen}}=\frac{\text {mass of oxygen}}{\text {mass of nitric acid}}\times 100\%=\frac{48}{63}\times 100\%=76.19\%
