If the diameter of the circle is 1 cm (it is too small a figure, I must say), the diagonal of the square will be the diameter of the circle. Each side of the square will be 1*sin 45= 0.707106781 cm and the perimeter of the square will be 4*0.707106781 = 2.828427125 cm
