The number of moles in 1000ml

Moles = mass / molar mass

Molar mass of NaOH = 23 + 16 + 1 = 40g /mol

Moles = 0.4/40 = 0.01 moles

0.01 moles in 1000 ml is the molarity.

0.01 M

Ph = - log 0.01

PH = - (-2) = 2

The pH is 2
