Calculate the pH of 1 mol of 1M HCL solution diluted to 1 litre

Answer:

If 900 ml of water is added to 100 ml.of 0.1M HCl, then the Molarity after dilution will be 1000 x N= 0.1 x 100 , then ,

N=0.1 x 100/1000= 0.01 M.

On the other hand if 1000 ml.of water is added to 100 ml.of 0.1 M HCl, then the Molarity after dilution will be

1100 x N= 0.1 x 100,

so N=0.1 x 100/1100=0.009090
